Small Business Saturday

It's Small Business Saturday this week!

Shopping with small businesses has many key beneficial factors. When you shop small you are supporting not only your local community but a dream, your custom helps small businesses to thrive and grow! As well as supporting individuals you are also being kinder to the earth by reducing your carbon footprint.

Anyway, don't take our work for it! We caught up with some of our fabulous pop up hosts to highlight the importance of supporting small businesses.

Zoe Fisher, founder of Spot and Bear Antiques and who is a regular host of our Lanes Pop Up Shop said: “Small business Saturday is really important to me because I have an opportunity to say hello and spread the word that I am out there. It also gives me the opportunity to find new products from different sellers.

I myself shop with small businesses for many items and it’s so nice to receive the personal touch and sometimes meeting the friendly face behind it too.

It’s very important to me, for my own business, that we support other small businesses. I’d like to think supporting and shopping local at small businesses will mean we don’t just have computer orders, we still have physical shops with people to visit. It’s a must to help the town survive.”

Maude and Noah joins us in our Harrogate Pop Up next week. Alicia founded Maude and Noah during 2017. After some personal struggles with illness, Alicia used their savings and set up their business. Alicia said this on why we should shop with small businesses“ I feel there is more soul, more passion, more blood, sweat and tears when it’s a small business and that’s why I’m a proud small business owner.”

If you are local to Harrogate make sure you pop in and check out the range of goodies they have in store!

Last but not least we caught up with Joanne, who is the founder of JK Photography. Joanne said: "Supporting small businesses really does support a dream. It's daunting going for it on your own in business. You have to put everything you have in to what you do. Day and night.

The Pop Up Shop is the perfect opportunity to reach high street customers without long term commitment and costs. I will continue to offer the services I do in the Lanes Pop Up Shop due to the huge level of support I receive from customers new and old. "

We hope that this read has given you some inspiration to support small businesses and shop local in your area! As always, our pop up shops are a fantastic way to shop with small businesses. Find you nearest location here: https://www.contemporarybybp.co.uk/pop-up-spaces
